Single youth performed better in war then others. Therefore, he banned marriages for youth, so that they join army. Saint Valentine a Christian priest found this ban as gross injustice and he defied the law. He organized secret marriages for youth. Soon they found out his defiance of law. Eventually he was executed. Many historians believe Valentines Day celebrated in the memory of martyrdom of Saint Valentine. As per some historians, Saint Valentine was in love with the daughter of jailor, who used to visit during his time in jail. Before his execution, he sent a letter to that girl with a signature ‘From your valentine’. This expression is still widely in use during Valentines Day.
Some believe birds and bees especially in Europe mates during February 14.taking cue out of it people also celebrating Valentines Day. In addition, some historians feels there is relation between Romans feast of Lupercalia and origin of Valentines Day.
